The President and the Foreign Minister were confirmed dead, while the condition of Raisi remains unclear.

Search teams have located the crash site and are currently working to recover the wreckage and the bodies of the victims. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Raisi, 63, had been president of Iran since 2021. He was a top contender to succeed the nation's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
